VBL offer a variety of psychometric tests and tools to support and complement the development work we do. Often the first stage of development is self awareness, and by having a variety of tools available, we can work with the right one for you and your organisation.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) is a self-report questionnaire designed to make personality types understandable and useful in everyday life. MBTI results identify the valuable differences between people – differences that can often be the source of much misunderstanding and miscommunication. The information enhances understanding of yourself, your motivations, your natural strengths and your potential areas for growth and it will also help you to appreciate people who differ from you.

The FIRO-B® assessment helps people understand their behaviour and that of others in interpersonal situations. It can be used as an integral part of your leadership and coaching, team-building, and conflict management initiatives, in a variety of settings and in combination with other solutions to improve organisational performance.

The ECI 2.0 is a 360-degree tool designed to assess the emotional and social competencies of individuals in organisations. It measures eighteen competencies across four areas: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management.

Belbin enables individuals and organisations to help build productive working relationships, select and develop high performing teams, raise self awareness and personal effectiveness and build mutual trust and understanding. The Belbin Inventory assesses how an individual behaves in a team environment and includes 360-degree feedback from observers as well as the individual's own evaluation of their behaviour, and contrasts how they see their behaviour compared with how their colleagues do. The Belbin Inventory scores people on how strongly they express behavioural traits from nine different team roles.

DiSC assists you to better understand your motivations, your work habits and your personality type. Characteristics of behaviour can be grouped into these four major "personality styles" (Dominance, Influence, Conscientiousness and Steadiness) and each tend to exhibit specific characteristics common to that particular style. All individuals possess all four styles, but what differs from one to another is the extent of each. In a typical team, there are varying degrees of compatibility, not just toward tasks but interpersonal relationships as well, and understanding the differences makes it possible to integrate individual team members better.

VBL has created the on-line survey TeamPulse to enable a team to accurately assess itself against nine key elements of team performance: vision, values, leadership, culture and climate, change, communication, emotional resilience, performance and team dynamics. Your team can quickly identify how they are performing against these elements and develop specific action plans to both enhance their strengths as well as address areas of weakness.

The Leadership Styles questionnaire is an online survey designed to provide leaders with an objective view of their performance. Based on both research and experience, Leadership Styles enables a leader to assess themselves against six different elements of the Leadership Repertoire: Visionary, Coaching, Affiliative, Democratic, Pace Setting, and Commanding.

Neuro Linguistic Programming is an approach to psychotherapy and organisational change based on a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the underlying subjective experiences (or patterns of thought). NLP seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour.

The CPI 260 assessment allows organisations to learn how their leadership characteristics compare with successful leaders, identify their leadership strengths and weaknesses to maximise career success, capitalise on these strengths and set goals to fulfil their managerial potential. The Lifestyle Feedback Report available with this assessment provides information on your leaders approach to life, how others see them, how they see themselves and how they compare to others on characteristics that are important at work and in every day living. Scores on 26 separate measures are recorded and grouped into five categories as follows: Dealing with others, Self-Management, Motivations and Thinking Style, Personal Characteristics and Work-Related Measures.

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a concept that helps us to understand the structure of personality.  It provides a simple way of categorising the behaviours of two people during an interaction in order to understand and improve the relationship. The basic concept is that our thoughts, feelings and behaviours emerge from one of three internal states of mind.  The states are known as ego-states and have the labels of Parent, Adult and Child.  These labels describe what goes on in the head, not a biological condition.
