The company has grown significantly in recent years organically and through acquisition into new and existing markets. Their aim is to provide customers with a uniform response delivered on a global scale with leadership as one of their core values.
The Weir Group had identified leadership as a key component of its future success strategy and identified three key groups to develop: high potential leaders, business unit Managing Directors and Presidents and Senior Functional Directors. Over a seven year period VBL provided leadership development programmes for over 180 of these leaders. The objectives of the programme were to:
VBL created these leadership development programmes for multi-cultural groups of leaders. The programmes gave the leaders the opportunity to learn and network with colleagues from across the organisation and globe. Each were based on a number of residential experiential leadership development modules aimed at improving personal leadership impact and providing the skills for business leadership in a global organisation. The programme also included 360 degree feedback and executive coaching from VBL coach mentors.
